Every family does this differently, and some moments are not for the camera. Before the day we speak to the person coordinating for your family and agree what we photograph, and what we don’t.
At a lobola, roora or umembeso we photograph the moments that families look back on: the delegation arriving, the gifts and attire, grandparents and elders, the first time both families sit together, the dancing and the meal. Portraits of the couple and each family are planned into the programme so nobody has to be chased down later.

If a white wedding follows your lobola or roora, the same team can cover both, so the two days look and feel like one collection. Send both dates in one request.
A lobola or roora is not one photograph. It is a sequence, and we follow it from the first arrival to the end of the celebration, for as long as your coverage runs.

What your booking includes depends on the package you choose.
Some parts of the day are private, and the families decide what is photographed. We agree the programme with you beforehand, stay out of the way during the negotiations and take charge when it is time for the couple and family portraits.
Many families keep the negotiation room private. We photograph the arrivals, the gifts and the celebration instead, and agree this with your coordinator beforehand.
We plan the timings with whoever is coordinating the day for your family, often an aunt, an uncle or the munyai, and keep the couple informed.
Portraits of the couple and each family are part of the programme, so nobody has to be chased down later.
Prices are in US dollars. For ceremonies further afield, transport and any overnight stay are quoted before you book.
